Biography
Ivan Paupert was born in 1738. Having entered the military service in 1753 as a cadet in one of the regiments of the French army , Paupert then transferred to the "Caesar's service" khorunzhim in the infantry regiment of Mercy d'Argento , where he gradually received the rank of second lieutenant , lieutenant and captain [1] .
In 1769, I.M. Paupert transferred to the Royal Polish service, where he was accepted with the rank of major and was promoted here: in August 1775 - to lieutenant colonels , in 1776 - to colonels , and in June 1790 received the rank of general Major [1] .
Upon the accession of Poland to the Russian Empire , on April 15, 1793 he was accepted into the Russian Imperial Army in the same rank; March 28, 1798 he was promoted to lieutenant general with the appointment of the chief of the Kharkov cuirassier regiment , but already on October 5 of the same 1798, by order of the emperor Paul was dismissed from service [1] .
Ivan Mikhailovich Paupert, before entering the Russian army, participated in the Seven Years War , in 1769 fought in Poland, during the Bars Confederation , and in 1794 and 1795. during the uprising of Tadeusz Kosciuszko [1] .
