Although this spacecraft was created by order of the military department, it is of great importance for the entire cosmonautics, as it is designed to work out the latest general principles for controlling launches of space launch vehicles and controlling spacecraft in orbits.
The device was named after the Zeya River , flowing near the Svobodny Cosmodrome .
