It is located 35 kilometers northeast of the district center of Staritsa , on the left bank of the Volga , on the Talitsa river. The village crosses the highway " M10 - Bolshaya Borki - Nesterovo - Chernicheno " (Tver-Staritsa).

History
Since the 17th century, it has been in the possession of the Panafidin nobles. According to the division of the estate in 1826, the village of Nesterovo with 80 souls of serfs went to the navigator Zakhar Ivanovich Panafidin .
In the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries, the village of Nesterovo belonged to the Andreevsky parish of the Tredub volost of the Staritsky district . In 1859 - 50 yards, 244 residents, in 1886 - 65 yards, 380 residents, a water mill, a wine and a small shop; Crafts: fishing, hunting, latrines (shepherds, workers).
In 1919, in Nesterovo there were 75 yards, 506 inhabitants; cult enlightenment circle, consumer society, mill. In 1921, Nesterovo was the center of the village council of the same name in Brody volost of the Staritsky district, in 1925 - in the Tredub volost of the Tver district.
From 1929 to 1956, the village was part of the Emelyanovsk district of the Kalinin region .
During the Great Patriotic War, Nesterovo was occupied by Hitler troops in October, liberated by the troops of the Kalinin Front in December 1941 .
Since 1963, the village is the center of the village council of the Staritsky district. In the 1970s and 80s, Nesterovo was the central estate of the Progress state farm . In 1997 - 30 households, 81 residents.
In 1994-2006, the village was the center of the Nesterovsky rural district, and in 2006-2012, it was part of the Vasilyevsky rural settlement .
