Altrip ( French Altrippe ) is a commune in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region [1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), Moselle department , Forbach - Boulet-Moselle district , Saralb canton [2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Grotenken .

Geographical position
The commune is located 330 km east of Paris and 50 km east of Metz .
The area of the commune is 4.88 km², the population is 431 people [3] (2006) with a tendency towards stabilization: 386 people [4] (2014), the population density is 79.1 people / km². Previously part of Lorraine .
History
- Entered the historical province of Lorraine, belonged to the College of Saint-Sauveur de Metz under the jurisdiction of Senor Creange .

Economy
In 2010, out of 286 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years old), 201 were economically active , 85 were inactive (activity indicator 70.3%, in 1999 - 62.7%). Of the 201 active able-bodied residents, 179 people worked (95 men and 84 women), 22 were unemployed (12 men and 10 women). Among 85 able-bodied inactive citizens, 24 were pupils or students , 30 were pensioners , and another 31 were inactive for other reasons [9] [10] .
