Palaeopsychops angustifasciatus (lat.) Is a fossil species of retina of the genus Palaeopsychops from the family Ithonidae (formerly in Polystoechotidae ). Found in Eocene deposits of Europe (Fur Formation, Denmark , about 50 Ma). The size of the front wing is 31.3 × 14.2 mm. The species Palaeopsychops angustifasciatus was first described in 2001 by the Danish paleoentomologist Stig Andersen ( Stig Andersen ; Geological Museum, University of Copenhagen , Copenhagen , Denmark ) together with the taxa Palaeopsychops abruptus , Palaeopsychops latifasciatus Palaeopsychops maculatus and other new species. The taxon Palaeopsychops angustifasciatus is included in the genus Palaeopsychops Andersen 2001 . Sister taxa: P. abruptus , P. quadratus , P. dodgeorum , P. latifasciatus , P. maculatus , P. douglasae , P. marringerae , P. setosus , P. timmi [1] [2] [3] .
