Monument to Nicholas the Miracle Worker and the memorial "To the Creators of the City" on the Central Square

Description

The central square was formed at the intersection of Mira and Lenin Streets . The central square belongs to the public and business zone, it serves as the core of the cultural and political life of the city. The southern part of the square overlooks Lenin Boulevard, which belongs to the zone of parks and boulevards.

In 1977, a stone made of gray granite was installed on the square with the inscription “The monument to Glory to Labor” will be built here. ” It was assumed that at this place a monument will be erected in honor of the builders of the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Kuybyshevgidrostroy . However, over the past decades, the monument never appeared, and during the reconstruction of the Central Square it was moved to the nearby Central Park, where it was opened on August 10, 2006 as the Glory to Work monument.

The ensemble of the square includes:

  • Palace of Culture "Tolyatti"
  • Hotel "Zhiguli Star"
  • The sculptural composition " Nikolai the Miracle Worker " (sculptor - A. I. Rukavishnikov , the monument was commissioned by the mayor of Tolyatti S. F. Zhilkin )
  • Chapel in honor of the Nativity of Christ
  • Memorial "To the creators of the city"
  • Duma of the city district "Togliatti"

On the central square, city festivals and celebrations are held.
