Medal Regulation
1. The Medal of Turkmenistan “Magtymguly Pyragy” is the state award of Turkmenistan.
2. The Magtymguly Pyragy Medal of Turkmenistan was established with the aim of rewarding for great achievements in the study, dissemination and promotion of the creative heritage of the great thinker of the Turkmen people, Makhtumkuli Fraghi .
3. The Turkmenistan Magtymguly Pyragy Medal is awarded to citizens of Turkmenistan:
- for great merits in the implementation of large-scale programs of the President of Turkmenistan for the development of the cultural system;
- for scientific research that has made a great contribution to the development of the national culture of Turkmenistan, great merit in the revival and careful preservation of the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, spiritual values dating back to antiquity, in the study and dissemination of the creative heritage of the classic poet of Turkmen literature Makhtumkuli Fraghi;
- for great merits in science, education, culture, literature and art, brilliant creative successes, high craftsmanship, for special merits in the promotion of spiritual values that have replenished the treasury of progressive world culture, the work of Makhtumkuli Fraghi, his important political, philosophical, social, humanistic and moral views that have become an invincible bastion of Turkmen society;
- great personal contribution and fruitful activity in the implementation of the humanistic principles of Makhtumkuli Fraghi;
- for great merits in educating the younger generation in the spirit of respect for national values, historical heritage, the ancient traditions and customs of the Turkmen people, love for the homeland, hard work, courage and courage;
- for great merit in the development of cultural ties between Turkmenistan and other states and international organizations, in the rapprochement and enrichment of cultures, for special merits in strengthening friendship and cooperation between peoples.
4. The Turkmenistan Magtymguly Pyragy Medal can be awarded to foreign citizens and stateless persons who have special merits in developing cultural and other friendly ties with Turkmenistan, in studying, disseminating and promoting the creative heritage of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
5. Persons awarded the Turkmenistan Magtymguly Pyragy Medal are awarded the Turkmenistan Magtymguly Pyragy Medal and ID.
6. Persons awarded the Turkmenistan Magtymguly Pyragy Medal are paid a lump-sum bonus in the amount of five times the average monthly wage and a monthly allowance is established for wages, official salaries, pensions, allowances or scholarships in the amount of 20 percent of the average monthly wage.
Persons awarded the Turkmenistan Magtymguly Pyragy Medal enjoy benefits in the cases and manner established by the legislation of Turkmenistan.
Medal Description
The medal has the shape of an octagon with pointed corners. The space between the corners is connected by semicircles, covered with gilding, they depict lines in the form of sunlight. The total diameter of the medal is 42 mm. There are three diamonds in each corner of the octagon and two convex circles with a total diameter of 33.5 mm are placed one above the other. In the upper part of the outer circle, covered with green enamel, there is a gilded inscription “MAGTYMGULY PYRAGY”, and in the lower part there are diverging gilded olive branches. In the inner circle with a diameter of 25.5 mm, the colors of which are combined, against the background of the contour image of the globe are depicted the convex silhouette of Makhtumkuli Fragi sitting with a pen in his hand in a national outfit and national writing instruments. The circle is gilded and polished. National writing instruments are white. The medal is connected with the help of a ringlet to a rectangular block, covered with green enamel and edged with a gilded ornament, measuring 20.8 mm in height and 30.6 mm in width. The block is made in the form of an enamelled image of the State Flag of Turkmenistan. The Turkmenistan Magtymguly Pyragy medal and its block are made of 925 sterling silver plated with gilding.
