Biography
Alexander Repin was born on August 23, 1915 in Moscow . After graduating from seven grades of the school and the school of factory apprenticeship, he worked at the factory. In 1935, Repin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1939, he graduated from the Chkalov Military Aviation School of Pilots. Since the beginning of World War II - on its fronts [1] .
By July 1944, Major Alexander Repin was deputy squadron commander of the 9th Guards Air Regiment of the 7th Guards Air Division of the 3rd Guards Air Corps of the USSR Airborne Forces . By that time, he had made 251 sorties to bombard accumulations of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, his important objects, inflicting heavy losses on him [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 19, 1944, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown by the guard, Major Alexander Repin was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal Star ” under number 4056 [1] .
After the war, Repin continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1955, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in the city of Lyubertsy, Moscow Region . He died on March 19, 1982 [1] .
He was awarded two Orders of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner , the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
