History
The Order of Mubarak the Great was established on July 16, 1974 by the Emir of Kuwait Sabah III and named after Sheikh Kuwait Mubarak I al-Sabah , who in 1897 achieved Kuwait's independence from the Ottoman Empire .
The order is intended for delivery to monarchs and heads of foreign states in accordance with the diplomatic protocol as a sign of friendship between countries.
In 1992, the statute of the order was amended, according to which the sign of the order received a new look.
Degrees
The order has two degrees:
- Order chain and star on the left side of the chest.
- A badge on a wide shoulder strap and a star on the left side of the chest.
Description
First type (before 1992)
The badge of the order was a golden round medallion, covered with blue enamel with a gold pattern. In the center was a golden eight-pointed star with the image of the national emblem of Kuwait .
The order chain consisted of alternating links:
- eight-pointed white enamel stars with arabic monogram Kuwait gold.
- blue enamel trapezoidal plates with the central element of the national emblem of Kuwait - a floating dhow with the flag of Kuwait against a background of white clouds and blue sky and white-blue waves.
Second type (after 1992)
The badge and star of the order are identical.
The sign is a golden eight-pointed rectangular star with small lines between the rays, with a wide border of blue enamel, along which the ornament is gold, with a central star of white enamel. In the center is the national emblem of Kuwait.
The order chain consists of alternating links:
- eight-pointed white enamel stars with arabic monogram Kuwait gold.
- curly plates with the central element of the national emblem of Kuwait - a floating dhow with the flag of Kuwait against a background of white clouds and a blue sky and white-blue waves.
