Mirtemir (real name - Mirtemir Umarbekovich Tursunov; Uzbek. Mirtemi Tursunov , May 28, 1910 - January 25, 1979) is an Uzbek poet. People's poet of Uzbekistan. Laureate of the Republican Prize. Hamza (posthumous).

Biography
Mirtemir was born on May 28, 1910 in the village of Ikan (now subordinate to the city of Turkestan, South Kazakhstan Region , Kazakhstan ). He was educated at the Pedagogical Academy in Samarkand , where in 1932 he graduated from the social and literary faculty. He worked as secretary of Yu. A. Akhunbabaev . In the 1930s, was repressed, but soon released. After he worked in various publishing houses and the Writers' Union of the Uzbek SSR.
Creativity
The first works of Mirtemir were published in 1926. In 1928, his poetic collection “In the Embrace of the Rays” ( Shulalalar Uinida ) was published . It was followed by the collections of “Zafar”, “Excitement”, “Commune”, “Capital”, “Revenge” ( Ўh ), “New Poems”, “Selected Works”.
Mirtemir also translated the poem of N. A. Nekrasov into Uzbek, Who lives in Russia well , as well as The Knight in the Tiger Skin by S. Rustaveli , as well as a number of works by A. S. Pushkin , M. Yu. Lermontov , Abay , R. Tagore and others.
