Biography
The third son of Sir Alan Stuart of Dregorn (? - 1333 ), who died in the battle with the British at Halidon Hill .
In 1345 he received possession from the Scottish Regent Robert Stuart of the land in Cambusnethan.
After the death of his older brothers John and Walter, Alexander Stewart inherited the barony of Crookston and Darnley . In 1371, he was mentioned as the owner of these two baronies.
In 1374, Sir Alexander Stuart passed away, leaving his only son, Alexander of Darnley ( 1368 - 1404 ).
