Description

The river is 62 [2] km long (of which 14.4 km are in Tatarstan).

The source of the river is 4 km east of the village of Iske-Ryazap of the Spassky district of Tatarstan [3] . It falls into the Staromainsky Bay of the Kuibyshev Reservoir in the Ulyanovsk Region at an altitude of 53 meters above sea level [4] .

The channel is very winding. It flows through the forest along a large extent.

Only two villages are located on the river - Old Rozhdestveno and Lesnoye Nikolskoye (both in the Staromainsky district of the Ulyanovsk region) [4] [3] .

Feature

Maina has 8 tributaries, the largest of which are Krasnaya (28.3 km), Kandalka (20 km) [4] , Tinarka (15 km). The density of the river network of the basin is 0.13 km / km², 26% of its territory is covered by forest.

The nature of the water supply is mixed, mostly snowy. Underground power module 1-3 l / s ∙ km². The average long-term annual runoff layer in the basin is 84 mm; the flood runoff layer is 64 mm. Spring flood usually begins at the end of March. Ledostav in the first decade of November. The average long-term low-water flow at the mouth is 0.068 m³ / s.

The water is moderately hard (3-6 mEq / l) in spring, very hard (9-12 mEq / l) in winter and summer. Total mineralization is 100-200 mg / l in spring, 500-700 mg / l in winter and summer [5] .

The river basin is the Volga from the upper Kuibyshev reservoir to the confluence with the Caspian.
