The village of Otary is located 10 km north-east of Vorotynts. The Vorotynets - Osinki -Otary highway is connected with the regional center. The ferry crossing Vasilsursk - Lysaya Gora is 5 km away. The distance to the coast at the mouth of the Sura is 2.5 km. Near the village is Lake Lohannoe.
