Cubanops terueli (lat.) - a species of small spiders of the genus Cubanops from the family Caponiidae . North America : Endemic to Cuba . The length of the males is 2.72 mm, the females are larger - up to 3.98 mm. The Cubanops terueli species was first described in 2010 by Cuban zoologist Alexander Sanchez-Ruiz ( Alexander Sánchez-Ruiz ; Centro Oriental de Ecosistemas y Biodiversidad, Museo de Historia Natural "Tomás Romay", Santiago de Cuba , Cuba ), American arachnologist Norman Platnik ( Norman I. Platnick ; p. 1951; American Museum of Natural History , Manhattan , New York , USA ) and Canadian arachnologist Nadine Dupérré . Cubanops terueli is included in the genus Cubanops Sánchez-Ruiz, Platnick & Dupérré, 2010 along with Cubanops bimini , Cubanops darlingtoni , Cubanops tortuguilla , Cubanops vega and other species. Species C. terueli is named after the Cuban arachnologist Rolando Teruel [1] [2] .
