Caponina chinacota (lat.) Is a species of small spiders of the genus Caponina from the family Caponiidae . South America : Southern Colombia ( Northern Santander , Chinácota). The female is about 3.83 mm long. The species Caponina chinacota was first described in 1994 by American arachnologist Norman Platnik ( Norman I. Platnick ; p. 1951; American Museum of Natural History , Manhattan , New York , USA ) together with Caponina tijuca and other taxa. Caponina chinacota is included in the genus Caponina Simon, 1891 along with Caponina paramo , Caponina cajabamba , Caponina chilensis , Caponina papamanga and other species. The name of the species C. chinacota is associated with its location (Chinácota) [1] [2] .
