History
Under the Han empire, the specific ownership of Yichang (益昌 候 国), later disbanded and merged with Anza County, existed on this territory. Under the Tang Empire, Oolong County (武隆 县) was later created here, later renamed Huichang (会昌 县), and then Yongqing (永清县). Under the Late Zhou Empire, the Bazhou region was formed in 959; The governing bodies of the Bazhou region and Yongqing County are located in the same place.
Under the Song Empire, the Xin'an Military District (信 安 军) was formed in 1005. In 1035, Yongqing County was annexed to Wenan County.
Under the Jurchen Jin Empire, the Xinan Military District was demoted to Xinan County (信 安县). In 1189, Yijin County (益 津 县) was formed. At this time, the Bazhou area was subordinate to the Xinan and Yijin counties.
Under the Yuan Empire, Xinan County was annexed to Yijin County, and in 1263, Yijin County was disbanded, and its territory came under the direct control of the regional authorities. In 1265, Yijin County was re-formed. Under the Ming Empire, Yijin County was disbanded again. At the beginning of the existence of the Qing empire in the Bazhou region, Wenan, Dacheng and Baoding counties were subordinate, but since 1728 there were no subordinate counties in the region. After the Xinhai revolution in China, a reform of the administrative division structure was carried out, during which the regions were abolished, and in 1913 the territory directly subordinate to the regional authorities was transformed into Basian County (霸 县).
In 1949, the Tianjin Special District (天津 专区) was formed, and the county became part of it. In 1958, the Tianjin Special District was disbanded; counties Yongqing and Guan were annexed to the county of Basian, which became directly subordinate to the authorities of Tianjin. In 1961, the Tianjin Special District was rebuilt, and Basian County became part of it again; at the same time, Yongqing County was isolated from it. In 1962, Guan County was isolated from Basian County.
In 1967, the Tianjin Special District was renamed the Tianjin County (天津 地区). In 1973, Tianjin County was renamed Langfang County (廊坊 地区). In September 1988, by the decision of the State Council of the PRC, Langfang County was transformed into Langfang City District. In 1990, Basian County was transformed into Bazhou City County.
