NBL Season 1946/47 - became the 10th season of the National Basketball League (NBL) . 12 teams took part in the championship, who played 44 games each season. The champion of the league was the Chicago American Gears team, in which George Miken made a professional debut. In the final, the Giers won the Rochester Royals team in four games.

In the offseason, five new clubs joined the league ( Detroit Gems , Syracuse Nationals , Toledo Jeeps , Three City Blackhawks and Anderson Duffy Packers ), and the Cleveland Allman Transfers team ceased to exist. In addition, the Basketball Association of America (BAA) was founded in this offseason, with which the NBL fought for survival for three years, after which in 1949 they merged into the National Basketball Association (NBA) .
