“Kyzyl-Koba” or “Red Caves” ( Ukrainian: “Kizil-Koba” , Crimean-Tat. “Qızıl Qoba”, “Kyzyl Koba” ) is a geological nature monument of national importance located in the Crimean Mountains in the territory of Simferopol region ( Crimea ) Area - 33 hectares. Land user - Simferopol State Forest Hunting .
Content
History
The natural monument was created on August 7, 1963 by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR of 08.08.63 No. 180-r, by reorganizing the natural monument of local importance, founded in 1947 [2] .
Description
It is located in the Crimean mountains on the spurs of the Dolgorukovskaya Yayla in the territory of the Perevalnensky forestry, square 4, covering the cave complex of the same name . The natural monument is located within the boundaries of the landscape-recreational park Kizil-Koba tract .
The nearest settlement is the village of Perevalnoye , the city is Simferopol .
Nature
Kyzyl-Koba is the largest cave in the Crimea. The total length of the studied part for this period is about 25 km, an area of 64,000 m², a volume of 270,000 m³, a height difference of 275 m. The underground river Kizilkobinka flows along the first floor. The cave has many lakes, waterfalls, siphons.
