History
The dynamic development of the Polsat television company, due to the growing popularity in the country, forced the company to start broadcasting on the new satellite TV channel. On March 1, 1997 , a new film television channel was launched, on the air of which films from the Otkritie film festival were originally broadcast. For a long time, TEST was displayed on the bottom right of the screen. Later, the channel was re-qualified for women, children and youth: in the 1990s, music programs and discos began to go on the air.
In April 2000, Polsat 2 lost its broadcasting frequency to TV4, but did not disappear from the television screens and was renamed Polsat 2 Info , starting showing documentaries and information programs. A few months later, the management of Polsat 2 received allegations of copyright infringement and illegal screenings of foreign documentary series. On September 1, 2001, the television channel began broadcasting around the world, releasing programs from other channels (Polsat, TV4, Polsat Zdrowie i Uroda, Polsat Sport ). Some programs have also appeared specifically for the Polish diaspora in the United States. Due to the international broadcasting format, advertisements on the TV channel were hardly shown.
On October 4, 2007 , serious changes took place in the TV channel: the design changed, the time for ad units expanded (in the USA, ad units began to appear in Polish at night). October 18, 2008 from 0:05 began broadcasting in the Nagravision system on the digital platform Cyfrowy Polsat. Initially, coding for this platform was supposed to begin on September 10 , but due to technical difficulties, the deadlines were postponed.
On January 1, 2010, Polsat 2 was disconnected on the Telewzija Vectra network due to a refusal to renew the contract, and Eska TV took its place. Since September 1, 2010 the channel has been broadcasting on the 11th button in CYFRA + network, since January 1, 2011 it is available on the 18th button in the Multimedia Polska network, since May 5 - on the 10th button in network n . Currently broadcasts replays of previously released programs.
