Biography
In 1853, the wife of captain A.M. Michurin was the actress from the acting dynasty of the Samoilovs , Vera Vasilievna Samoilova . V. A. Krylov, who knew the Samoilov’s family well, wrote about Michurin that he was “rich, in good standing with his superiors, but a spoiled baric, who loved luxury, bizarre in his desires, stubborn in their achievement. His fantasies were subsequently the reason for his complete ruin ” [3] . Michurin adored his wife and was ready to sacrifice her military career, because according to the then rules, the officers' wives could not be actresses. But Sovereign Nikolai Pavlovich, who greatly appreciated the art of Samoilova, refused to resign. According to A. I. Schubert, the actress appealed to the Emperor with a request to give her future husband some place on the civilian side, so that she could still play on stage. But he replied: “I can’t, Vera Vasilievna, a good colonel is dearer to me than any talents” and as the theater chronicler A. I. Wolf wrote, she “left the stage in the full color of years and the full development of talent.” Regarding the marriage of Samoilova, V. A. Poletika pointed out: “this marriage was not at all a marriage of love or of convenience. On one of the unfortunate days of her life, Vera Vasilyevna thought that she needed to get married in order to put an end to rumors that seemed to her offensive not so much even for herself, but for the person to whom she had nourishment - it was not enough to say reverence, but which fanatical ecstasy. " It has been suggested that only Nicholas I could be the person who caused awe and fanatical ecstasy in her. Nikolai gave her three thousand rubles for a dowry. Usually the king granted such sums for the wedding to his favorites from actresses or pupils of the Theater School [4] .
In 1855-1856, A. M. Michurin, with the rank of colonel, was the commander of the Grenadier Engineer Battalion ; from 1865 to March 28, 1871 - commander of the Novotorzhsky regiment .
The family lived in 1/3 house on Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street . The family had two sons and a daughter:
- Senior, poor health, served in the breech.
- The youngest son, Nikolai, studied at the Nikolaev Cavalry School, but following his mother’s vocation, he became a provincial actor. He died in November 1897, in Sukhumi.
