Veljugin, Anatoly Stepanovich

Anatoly Stepanovich Veliugin ( Belorussian. Anatol Stsyapanavich Vyalyugin ; 1923-1994) - Belarusian Soviet poet, prose writer and translator, screenwriter. Winner of the Yanka Kupala Literary Prize (1964). Laureate of the State Prize of the Belarusian SSR (1968). Honored Worker of Culture of the Belarusian SSR (1969). Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (1946).

Biography

Born in the family of a paramedic. In 1939-1940, as a student in the literary faculty of the Minsk Pedagogical Institute, he worked in the editorial office of the newspaper Zvezda. Since September 1941 he studied at the Sverdlovsk Pedagogical Institute. In 1942, he was drafted into the Red Army , studied at the Luginsky aviation school, participated in battles on the Stalingrad front. In 1943 he was wounded, for a long time was under treatment. In 1945-1946 he worked in the newspaper " Literature and mastastva ". In 1948 he graduated in absentia from the Maxim Gorky Minsk Pedagogical Institute . He worked in the press, in 1946-1984, with short breaks, worked as editor of the poetry department of the magazine " Polymya " [1] .

Creativity

It was published since 1934, actively - since 1938. The first collection of poems is “Salute in Minsk” (1947).
