Biography
The eldest son of Louis II d'Orleans-Longville ( 1510 - 1536 ), 4th Duke de Longville ( 1524 - 1536 ), and Maria de Guise ( 1515 - 1560 ).
In 1536 , when his father passed away, François (he was one year old) inherited the titles of the Duke de Longville, Count de Montgomery and de Tancarville, Viscount de Aberville.
In 1538, his mother Maria de Guise (widow of Louis II of d'Orleans-Longville) remarried to the King of Scotland, Jacob V Stuart, and left for Scotland.
In 1543, after the death of his grandmother, Jeanne Hachberg-Sauzenberg, Francois Longwil received the Neuchatel principality .
He was under the tutelage of his maternal grandfather, the Duke of Claude de Guise , and Cardinal Lotharin Charles de Guise .
He died in September 1551 at the age of 15, leaving no offspring.
