Biography
Active military service was carried out in the special unit "Vityaz" (Moscow, 1998-2000).
Since August 2003, he served in the Department of the Interior of the Tyumentsevsky District ; since July 2004, he served in a separate battalion of the police patrol service (Barnaul).
In October 2005 he was transferred to the Special Purpose Police Unit (OMON) of the Altai Krai Central Internal Affairs Directorate. Since February 2006, as part of the OMON, he was on a business trip in the Mobile detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Republic of Ingushetia .
On April 11, 2006, during a special operation to detain active members of the gang underground, conducted by the forces of the Mobile detachment in Nazran, S.F. Pavlov entered into battle with armed bandits. To prevent hostage-taking and casualties among civilians, S.F. Pavlov left the shelter in order to intercept the criminal who broke through the line of fire, but was wounded. On the night of April 12, 2006, he died of wounds in the Republican Clinical Hospital in Nazran [1] .
By Presidential Decree No. 1262 of November 10, 2006, for courage and heroism shown in the line of duty, senior police sergeant Pavlov Sergey Fedorovich was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage .
Memory
By order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia No. 635 dated July 16, 2007, he was forever enlisted in the lists of personnel of the OMON police department of the Altai Territory.
The name of S.F. Pavlov is the Cheremshan School, in which since 2007 a volleyball tournament has been held annually in October in memory of Sergei Pavlov [2] .
