Location
Starovo village is located in the southwestern part of the Orekhovo-Zuyevo region, about 37 km south of the city of Orekhovo-Zuyevo . Height above sea level 131 m [3] .

The name is associated with the non-calendar personal name of the Old [4] .
History
In the late XIX - early XX centuries. the village was part of the Ilyinsky volost of the Bogorodsky district of the Moscow province. On January 5, 1921, Starovo, as part of the Ilinsky volost, was transferred to the Yegoryevsk district of the Ryazan province [5] .
In 1926, the village was the center of the Starovsky village council of the Ilinsky volost of the Egoryevsk uyezd, Moscow province , there was a school of the 1st stage and a cooperative partnership [6] .
Until 2006, Starovo was part of the Ilyinsky rural district of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district [7] .
Population
In 1926, 401 people lived in the village (184 men, 217 women), there were 84 peasant farms [6] . According to the 2002 census , 72 people (26 men, 46 women) [8] .
