Taocheng ( Chinese р 城 п , pinyin : Táochéng , literally: “peach city”) is the district under the city subordination of the Hengshui urban district of Hebei Province ( PRC ).

History
Under the Western Han Empire, Taosian County (桃 县) existed here. Under the Sui Empire, Henshui County (衡水 县) was founded in 596, which subsequently disbanded or formed again.
The city of Hengshui was formed in 1947, but in 1948 it was disbanded. In 1949, the Hengshui Special District (衡水 专区) was formed, and Hengshui County became part of it. In 1952, Hengshui Special District was disbanded, and Hengshui County became part of the Shijiazhuang Special District (石家庄 专区). In 1962, the Hengshui Special District was re-established, and Hengshui County became part of it again. In 1970, the Hengshui Special District was renamed to Hengshui County (衡水 地区).
In 1982, the village of Hengshui was allocated from Hengshui County to a separate city county Hengshui. In 1983, Hengshui County was disbanded, and its territory was annexed to the city county of Hengshui. In May 1996, by the decision of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, the Henshui District was transformed into the Hengshui City District, and the territory of the former Henshui City County became the Taochen district in its composition.
