Geography
The village is located in the northwestern part of the Tersky district , on the right bank of the Terek River. It is located 1 km west of the rural center of New Balkaria , 23 km north of the regional center of Terek and 64 km northeast of the city of Nalchik .
It borders the lands of settlements: New Balkaria in the east, Krasnoarmeyskoe and Experimental in the southwest.
The village is located on the inclined Kabardian plain , in the transition from the foothill to the lowland zone of the republic. The terrain is mostly flat land with hilly hills along the Terek River Valley. The average altitude in the village is 195 meters above sea level.
The hydrographic network is represented by the Terek River, which flows west of the village.
The climate is humid and temperate with warm summers and cool winters. The average annual air temperature is about + 10.5 ° С, and varies from average + 23.0 ° С in July, to average -2.5 ° С in January. The average daily air temperature ranges from −5 ° С to + 12 ° С in the winter, and from + 16 ° С to + 30 ° С in the summer. The average annual rainfall is about 600 mm. Most precipitation falls from April to June. The main winds are east and northwest.
History
Until the mid-1950s, MTS existed on the site of the modern village, which was subsequently closed. His staff lived in several barracks.
The modern village was founded in the early 1960s.
In 1963, he was included in the Novo-Balkar Village Council , which was formed a year earlier.
