Arkady Benjaminovich Tsfasman (born December 21, 1936 , the village of Kopatkevichi , Petrikovsky district of the Gomel region ) is a Soviet, Russian and German historian , doctor of historical sciences , professor and Germanist . Excellent student of public education (1981), Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (1999), full member of the Academy of Humanities (2000). He is the creator of the Chelyabinsk scientific school for the study of the history of Germany and other countries of Western Europe in the XX century.
Biography
Born in Belarus , in a Jewish family. After the war he graduated from school in Chelyabinsk . In 1959 he graduated from the historical and philological faculty of the Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical Institute . He worked as a teacher in the village of Bolshoy Kuyash, Kunashaksky District, Chelyabinsk Region. In 1961-64 studied in graduate school at the Department of General History of Perm State University under the leadership of L. E. Kertman .
Since 1964 , at the ChSPI (now ChSPU ). He was an assistant, later a senior teacher.
Since 1969 - Associate Professor .
Since 1978 - Head. a cafe of universal history .
Since 1981 - professor .
In 1965 he defended his thesis on "The influence of the labor movement on the struggle in the camp of the ruling classes of Germany in the period of the Bülow block (1907-1909)."
In 1979 , he defended his doctoral dissertation on the theme "The struggle of the working class and the politics of the bourgeoisie: the political evolution of the bourgeois parties of Germany in the initial period of imperialism (the turn of the 19th — 20th centuries-1914)."
Scientific direction - political and cultural history of Germany XX. century., the history of domestic historical science of the XX century., the history of totalitarianism , the history and culture of the Jewish people . Under the leadership of Tsfasman in Chelyabinsk, a scientific school was developed to study the history of Germany and other countries of Western Europe in the 20th century. About 30 of his students became candidates and doctors of historical sciences. The author of more than 100 scientific publications ( monographs , articles, reports).
Since 2002 lives in Germany.
