Biography
March 21, 1986, Marcellinus Taiji Tani was ordained priest , after which he served in the diocese of Urava.
On May 10, 2000, Pope John Paul II appointed Marcellina Taiji Tani as bishop of Urava. On September 15, 2000, Marcellinus Taiji Tani was ordained as a bishop by the Archbishop of Tokyo Peter Takeo Okada, in co- operation with the Bishop of Yokohama Masahiro Rafail Umemura and the Bishop of Niigata Francis Keiichi Sato .
On March 31, 2003, Pope John Paul II renamed the Diocese of Urava the Saitama Diocese and Marcellinus Tayji Tani began to wear the title "Bishop of Saitama".
July 27, 2013, resigned.
