History
The monument was unveiled on September 10, 2004 in Belgorod at the intersection of Vatutin Avenue and Gubkin Street. The Belgorod sculptor A. A. Shishkov worked on the monument. According to him:
“The governor Yevgeny Savchenko suggested I install the sculpture,” the artist admitted. - And the city hall sponsored this business. I did it for six months. With whom to sculpt - did not hesitate for a second. There is no person in Belgorod who would not hear about Pavel Kirillovich Grechikhin.

In August 2016, in preparation for the reconstruction of the interchange at the intersection of Gubkin and Vatutin Streets, it was decided to find a new location for the installation of the monument. As a result of Internet voting, the intersection of the streets was chosen: Korochanskaya, Volchanskaya, Belgorod regiment. It is symbolic that the traffic police post used to be at the current installation site of the monument. [2]
Description
The monument is a figure of inspector Pavel Kirillovich Grechikhin with a raised rod, standing next to a motorcycle. The motto is written on the pedestal: "Good glory is better than wealth."
The inspector’s wand repeatedly became the prey of vandals [1] [3] . The city authorities installed surveillance cameras near the monument, but this does not stop the attackers [4] .
