Cesare Bonelli ( January 3, 1821 , Turin - October 1, 1904 , Orvieto) - Italian political and military leader. He was the senator of the Kingdom of Italy in the 13th Parliament.

Biography
He was educated at the Turin Military Academy, graduated in 1841. In 1843 he was promoted to lieutenant of artillery, in 1858 a captain, in 1860 a lieutenant colonel, in 1862 a colonel.
He participated in all the major battles of Italy during the Risorgimento era and repeatedly distinguished himself as commander of artillery, especially during the defense of Valeggio during the war with Austria in 1866; during the war he was wounded by a grenade shard. He was Minister of War in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Governments of Cairoli (that is, in 1878 and then from July 14, 1879 to 1881) and Minister of the Navy in the 2nd Government of Cairoli. From 1881 he returned to active military service, commanded an army unit in Verona.
