In 2009, an announcement appeared in the Rostov Region that young people are required for filming. About 1,700 people took part in the casting . According to director Alexander Rastorguev , as a result of the selection, the most talented were left. Together with the cameras they received the task to shoot themselves.
Contents
1st part. Audiovisual fixation
At the beginning of the film, viewers see a fragment of the order of the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Azov region of the Rostov region that strengthening measures to combat corruption requires the introduction of audiovisual fixation of investigative measures.
Then there are shots from the life of a criminal inspection officer who, working on a camera, politely polls suspects, buys champagne at a store, talks with colleagues, and does household chores. At some point, a young Rostovite gets into the lens, who, sobbing, complains to the void that she "does not have enough air: sitting at home, discussing politics, crisis - stupid, stupid, intolerable."
Then for a few seconds - rustling, rustling, whispering and black screen. The camera is stolen, it falls into the hands of young people.
2nd part. Operational Materials
The home video begins, and now the audience is watching the life of Kuzi, Buba, Sasha and other guys. They ride in a car, eat, wander around the city, blow bubbles, quarrel with girls, try to earn money. One of them complains that his salary for the last month was 2500 rubles. Two others are trying to create a design agency and offer customers a design in the form of balls.
Heroes talk a lot about love, loyalty, and Kuzya is proud that "he never gave a single chick a flower." His comrades also flaunt a cynical attitude towards girls.
However, at the end of the film one of the heroes, having gone into the army, is sincerely happy when a friend who has come to him tells that she is pregnant. And Kuzya, going on a visit to the girl, suddenly stops at a flower booth and buys a rose. Then he dials the number, finds that the subscriber is not available, and falls into a state of absolute despair.
Rolling Fate
The movie did not appear on the cinema screens, it exists within the framework of club rentals. The correspondent of " New News " believes that the film is suitable for display "either in the silent version, or on a hypothetical channel that automatically turns off when young people appear within a radius of ten meters" [1] .
Director Pavel Bardin (“ Izvestia ”) argues that the author’s cinema in general and the film of Rastorguev and Kostomarov in particular were initially denied access to the wide screen, since the art house carries the “stamp of limited rental” [2] .
On the TV channel “ Rain ” actor and teacher Viktor Ryzhakov offers the authors of the film, which “legends are spreading around Moscow”, not to complain about their fate [3] .
The correspondent of the agency " Interfax ", speaking of the sold-out, which are fueled by the authors of the picture, called "I love you" the first blockbuster of Russian club rentals [4] .
Feedback and Reviews
The film has caused quite a lot of feedback. Thus, according to the reviewer of the Kommersant newspaper, the main effect of “I love you” is in how “seemingly uncontrolled speech flows are woven into a fascinating pattern” [5] .
Michael Ratgauz (“ Session ”) came to the conclusion that the spirit-lifting power of the painting has nothing to do with goodness [6] .
Nailya Golman, in the article of the “ Afisha ” magazine, saw on the screen “a lively and funny movie,” which consists of “kitchen conversations, household philosophizing and yard aphorisms” [7] .
Film critic Zara Abdullayeva (“The Art of Cinema ”) found in the characters “wild people” who, nevertheless, “are engulfed in the heat of tender, undeveloped souls” [8] .
At the same time, the publication “Piter. TV ”said that part of the audience during the viewing left the hall, considering that“ this is a chernukha ” [9] .
Borders between genres
Certain discussions were caused by the question of what genre to include the tape "I love you." So, Naila Golman noted that, using the example of individual episodes, one can look at the boundary between authoring and “documentary peeping attempts” [7] .
Victor Matizen came to the conclusion that this film is not a documentary and not a game, but a real one or “played away, but only partly” [1] .
