Biography
Born on October 12, 1864 in the Tver province.
He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (graduated in 1894 ) and at the Academy of Arts (1894-1899).
November 2, 1899 he was given the title of artist for the paintings "September Twilight" and "Rest". [one]
Exhibited in the 1890s and 1900s at exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers .
For some time Bogatyrev lived in the Caucasus, where he painted a series of portraits of Shamil’s associates: “Khamzat - Naib Chantinsky”, “Hadji Murat - Naib Avarsky” and others. [2]
He also worked in Rostov-on-Don, where he was in charge of the drawing classes opened by A. S. Chinenov with his wife M. M. Chinenova. [3]
He died on November 19, 1942 .
