Story
IX century BC. er . The prophet Elijah advises the Israeli king Ahab not to marry Jezebel, the princess of Phenicia, who worships idols. However, Ahab is not going to follow these wise words. He sends for the girl his commander Jehu, who is to escort her caravan to Jezreel. When Jezebel finally arrives at Ahab, he, struck by the beauty of the girl, gives her a separate palace. On the very first night of marriage, Jezebel leaves Ahab and runs off to Jehu, whom she manages to seduce.
Jezebel establishes the cult of Baal in Israel and builds a temple to his deity. This is followed by the punishment of the Lord in the form of drought, which ends only after the fervent prayers of Elijah.
