The moth perenosnoy [1] or Heimopten operennaya [2] ( lat. Cheimoptena pennigera ) is a butterfly from the family of moths . The only representative of the genus. The species was described in 1969 from the Karakum desert.

Description
Wingspan - 16-17 mm. Males are distinguished by long scales, “feathers” that make up the fringe of their wings. Females of this species are wingless. Flight time in January-February. The caterpillar feeds on plants of the genus Saxaul [1] , including white saxaul [2] . The pupa is in diapause until the middle or end of the following winter [2] .
Habitat and habitat
Endemic of the deserts of Central Asia , and Kazakhstan . Found in Karakum (Repetek), Muyunkum (middle course of the Chu River), in the Sary-Ishikotau desert (along the ancient Ili riverbed). It is also possible to live northeast of the specified area - up to Lake Zaisan . It lives in sands overgrown with white saxaul . Mostly found in inter-bark falls with mixed grass vegetation. In places, the usual form, however, occurs mainly locally [2] .
Guard
Listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan . The species is protected in the Repetek Reserve [2] .
