The 5th howitzer artillery regiment is a military unit of the USSR Armed Forces in the Great Patriotic War . The regiment at different times could be called the 5th howitzer artillery regiment of high power , including the addition of the abbreviations "RGK" or "RVGK"

History
The regiment was armed with 24 203 mm howitzers .
In the army during the Second World War from June 22, 1941 to July 25, 1941 and from September 15, 1942 to February 2, 1943.
On June 22, 1941, it was deployed in the village of Myshenki (now Myshanka, Petrikovsky district of the Gomel region ). With the outbreak of war, the 612th howitzer artillery regiment was to be deployed at the base of the regiment, but apparently it was not deployed.
A month after the start of the war, he was withdrawn to the rear, in the Volga Military District, where he was located for more than a year.
October 2, 1942 received an order for promotion to Stalingrad [1] . From November 17 to December 14, 1942 he took part in the counterattack near Stalingrad , being part of the long-range artillery group. In early February 1943, the regiment was withdrawn to the rear and in April 1943 it was disbanded, the personnel was sent to staff the 101st howitzer artillery brigade
