Body length 19–20.5 cm, wing length 84–102 mm, tail length 83–93 mm. Most of the upper body is black, a long and crescent “eyebrow”, as well as the chin and throat are white. The belly and most of the feathers on the wings are white.
It lives exclusively in sub-Saharan Africa ( Angola , Benin , Botswana , Burkina Faso , Burundi , Central African Republic , Chad , Republic of the Congo , Democratic Republic of the Congo , Côte d'Ivoire , Egypt , Equatorial Guinea , Eritrea , Gabon , Gambia , Ghana Guinea , Guinea-Bissau , Kenya , Lesotho , Liberia , Malawi , Mali , Mauritania , Mozambique , Namibia , Niger , Nigeria , Rwanda , Senegal , Sierra Leone , Somalia , Sudan , Swaziland , Tanzania , Togo , Uganda , Zambia and Zimbabwe )
