Biography
Yegor Podanev was born in 1925 in the village of Nizhnyaya Pokrovka (now the Krasnogvardeysky District of the Belgorod Region ). After completing seven classes of school, he worked on the collective farm . In February 1943, Podanev was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. From February 1944 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War [1] .
By January 1945, the guard sergeant Yegor Podanev was a tank driver of the 50th Guards Tank Brigade ( 9th Guards Tank Corps , 2nd Guards Tank Army , 1st Belorussian Front ). Distinguished during the liberation of Poland . The crew of Podanev participated in the battles for the liberation of the cities of Zyrardouv and Sochachov , destroying 4 tanks and 11 artillery pieces, as well as a large number of enemy firing points. February 1, 1945 Podanev died in battle. He was buried in the Polish town of Stargard-Szczecinski [1] .
Awards
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 27, 1945, the guard sergeant Yegor Podanev was posthumously awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Order of Lenin , Red Banner , Red Star and Glory of the 3rd degree [1] .
