Francis Maria "Ska" Keller ( German: Franziska Maria "Ska" Keller ; b. 22.11.1981, Guben ) - German politician. Member of the Green Party . Activist for the rights of migrants. Biography
She studied Islamic studies, Turkology and Judaism at the Free University of Berlin , then continued her education in Istanbul. Married to Finnish activist Marcus Drake. He lives in Brussels. In addition to native German, she is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and also speaks a little Turkish [1] and Arabic [2] .
Political career
From 2001 to 2004, she was a member of the board of the German Green Youth Union, from 2005 to 2007 she was the press secretary of the Young European Greens Federation. In 2002, she joined the Soyuz 90 / Greens party. In 2005 she became a member of the board of the Land Organization of the Party in Brandenburg. At the same time, from 2005 to 2009, she headed the party organization of the Spree-Naise district . Actively participated in the preparation of a land referendum against the development of new brown coal quarries in the region. In June 2009, she was elected from the Greens to the European Parliament (seventh in the party list). In the European Parliament he participates in the work of the Commission on International Trade and the Commission on Civil Liberties, Justice and Internal Affairs, as well as delegations of the joint parliamentary commissions of the EU — Mexico and the EU — Turkey [3] .
In January 2014, according to the results of Internet primaries, along with the Frenchman Jose Bovet topped the list of the European Green Party in the elections to the European Parliament [4] .
