Blondie (comic book)

Blondie is an American newspaper comic created by artist Chick Young , and the name of his main character. The first story was published on September 8, 1930 [1] .

Already in the first years after its creation, the comic book gained great popularity, which led to the release in the late 1930s of a radio and television series based on its plots. Chick Young continued to create this comic until his death in 1973, after which the matter passed to his son, Dean Young. Together with Young, many well-known comic artists have worked on comics at different times.

The comic comic depicts the daily life of a married couple, Blondie Budabup and her husband Dagwood Bamstead, the son of a wealthy industrialist, the stereotyped "slapdash and messy", as well as their two children. The “wedding” of the heroes took place not in the first story, but three years after the comic book began to be released, in 1933.

The Blondi comic is still published, published in 2000 newspapers in 47 countries, translated into 35 languages, and has received several prestigious awards.
