Henderson County is located in the United States , Illinois . As of 2010 , the population was 7,331 people. It was founded in 1841 , got its name in honor of the American pioneer and businessman Richard Henderson.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 1,024 km², of which 981 km² is land and 42 km² or 4.14% are water bodies.

According to the 2000 census [1] , 8,213 residents of 3,365 households and 2,375 families live in the okrug. The population density is 8.00 people per km 2 . On the territory of the district there are 4,126 residential buildings, with a building density of about 4 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 98.50%, African - Americans - 0.26%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.11%, Asians - 0.10%, Hawaiians - 0.04%, representatives of other races - 0.18 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.82%. Hispanics accounted for 0.88% of the population, regardless of race .
As part of 28.60% of the total number of households , children under the age of 18 live, 59.60% of households are married couples living together, 7.10% of households are single women without a spouse, 29.40% of households households are not related to families , 25.30% of households consist of one person, 12.40% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.42 people and the average family size is 2.88 people.
