Laothoe is a genus of butterflies from the family of hawthorns ( Sphingidae ). The hind wings are wide, with a deep notch along the outer edge in front of the apex. Proboscis reduced, not functioning. The antennae of males are fusiform, thickened in the middle part and gradually thinning.
