Sergei Petrovich Pesterev [1] (in some sources - Pesterev ; born on January 12, 1888 in Kharkov , the Russian Empire - d. May 2, 1942 ) is a Russian and Ukrainian athlete. Known as a cyclist and football person [2] .

Biography
Born in Kharkov ; later he lived with his mother and brother in Sevastopol . He took part in various local bicycle races, and repeatedly became their winner [2] .
In 1912, he participated in the Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm , where he spoke from the Russian Empire in road racing at a distance of 320 kilometers (in individual and team groups) [2] . Prizes did not take [1] .
In addition to cycling Pesterev was fond of football, and was also known as a football organizer. He was one of the founders of the " Sevastopol circle of sports lovers " [2] [3] .
Until 1938 he lived in Yalta . In 1940 he was repressed by the Soviet government and sentenced to five years. May 2, 1942 he died in custody. In 1999, he was posthumously rehabilitated. [2]
