Brazhnik Maak [1] [2] ( lat. Marumba maackii ) is a butterfly from the family of hawks ( Sphingidae ). The specific name is given in honor of Richard Karlovich Maak , a Russian naturalist , researcher of Siberia and the Far East .

Range
The Russian Far East , northeastern China , North Korea , South Korea and northern Japan ( Hokkaido ). The species is found on the edges and outskirts of wide roads in light forests and light forests. Inhabits mountain forests in Korea. In the Far East of Russia it is found with mixed coniferous-deciduous forests and deciduous forests with Mongolian oak .
Description
Wingspan 78-96 mm. Edges of wings with buffy-yellow strokes and stripes. In the Far East of Russia, one generation a year with the summer time of butterflies from June to the end of July. In warmer years, a partial second generation takes place in August. In Korea , the flight time is in July and August. Caterpillars up to 70 mm long, grayish-green or yellowish-green. Caterpillar feed plant: linden , including, in particular, Amur linden, heart-shaped linden, large-leaved linden, and fluffy linden .
