Yuri Danich (born 1949, Leningrad ) is a Russian-American artist.

Biography
Born in Leningrad in 1949. He graduated from the Leningrad Higher Industrial Art College. V.I. Mukhina (LVHPU) .
Until 1992, he was engaged in Old Russian painting. He worked on the murals of Fedorovsky town in the city of Pushkin.
In 1992 he moved to New York, became a member of the union of theater artists. He took part in many television and theater projects.
About 200 of the artist’s works are in private collections in Sweden, the USA and Russia.
On May 16, 2014, an exhibition of Possessed works (“Obsessed” or “Demons”) opened in the exhibition hall of the Moscow design factory “Flacon”. The central element was the eponymous painting-installation of about 20 m long, which was a satire on the leaders of the protests , which were presented naked. According to the artist, the curator was the ex-leader of the Young Guard of United Russia and the deputy head of the AP internal affairs department Timur Prokopenko , and Sergey Bugaev-Africa (formerly a confidant of President Vladimir Putin in the 2012 presidential election ) also helped in her organization. and a member of the Young Guard of United Russia, Andrei Tatarinov (who financed the exhibition) [1] .
Reproductions of the painting “Possessed” appeared on Kutuzovsky and Leningradsky Avenues and Rublevsky Highway in the form of huge billboards, which caused the artist to file a lawsuit two years later [1]
