Feed the children

Feed the Children is an American non - governmental non - profit organization founded in 1979. In fiscal year 2011, the organization distributed more than 104 million pounds (over 47 thousand tons) of food and other essentials for needy children and their families in all 50 states of the USA and in 23 countries abroad. The organization supplies food, medicine, clothing, and other basic necessities to individuals, families, and children who are deprived of these items due to starvation, war, poverty, or natural disaster.

Performance ratings

Feed The Children meets all the standards of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance [3] , and has a 4-star rating (out of 4) and 60.67 points out of 70 possible points from Charity Navigator, the most respected organization in the field of philanthropy assessment in the USA [4] .

Forbes magazine placed Feed The Children in 15th place [5] in the list of 50 largest US charities in 2013 [6] .

Based on the rating criteria of the American Institute for Charity, Feed The Children received an “F” rating for financial efficiency, since according to the Institute, only 21 to 23 percent of the budget goes directly to charity programs [7] . Feed The Children disputes this rating because the American Charity Institute does not include “gifts in kind” (or “gifts in kind”) in their ratings, while other organizations involved in such ratings include these gifts. Partnership

On February 12, 2013, Feed The Children and World Neighbors announced that World Neighbors would become a subsidiary on March 1, 2013. [9]

Feed The Children is a partner of NAEHCY ( National Association of Educators for Homeless Children and Youth ) and has distributed more than 500,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, food and personal care products to homeless and low-income children. studying in US public schools.
