Shomoksha is a river in the Onega and Plesetsk regions of the Arkhangelsk region , the left tributary of Onega [2] .

It originates on the slopes of the Wind Belt , northeast of Mount Stochnaya . In the upper reaches flows in a northwest direction, parallel to Lake Shardozero . Then it turns east (south of Mount Siverka ). On the administrative border of Onega and Plesetsk regions, it turns north. It flows into Onega opposite the village of Hayala . Length - 84 km. The pool area is more than 100 km². In the lower reaches the river crosses the bridge of the highway " Priluki - Bolshaya Fёhtalma - Posad ". On the right bank of the river is the village of Shomoksha and the village of Pogostishche (uninhabited.) Chekuevsky rural settlement .
