Biography
Francesco Bonatelli was born on April 25, 1830 in the town of Iseo in northern Italy [1] .
He studied philosophy diligently at Pavia and Vienna Universities, where F. Bonatelli showed such abilities that already at the age of 19 he was approved as a private assistant professor, in 1861 he was appointed professor of philosophy at the University of Bologna and in 1867 at the University of Padua [2 ] [1] .
According to his philosophical views, Francesco Bonatelli belongs to the Rosmini-Serbati school (ideological psychology [3] ), but at the same time he discovers a thorough acquaintance with German philosophy, especially Herbart, Trendlenburg and Lotze [1] .
At the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries , the philosophical work entitled Pensiero e conoscenza (Thought and Knowledge) and published in 1864 in Bologna [1] (however, it should be remembered that after the publication of the fourth volume of "ESBE", where an article was published on Bonatelli, the philosopher continued to work actively for more than a decade).
Francesco Bonatelli died on May 13, 1911 in the city of Padua .
