Diphtheropsis incerta (lat.) Is a fossil species of small semi-rigid winged insects of the genus Diphtheropsis from the family of cicadas Tettigarctidae . Found in the Jurassic deposits of Tajikistan (Shurab, Sulyukta Formation, about 185 Ma, Plinsbach layer ). Elytra 35 mm. The species Diphtheropsis incerta was first described in 1937 by the Soviet paleoentomologist Andrei Vasilyevich Martynov (1879–1938; PIN RAS , Moscow , USSR ) together with the taxa Aboilus cellulosus , Archaboilus kisylkiensis , Choristopsycheis tenis uiservisis , and other Echisophyllus apis insects species. The taxon Diphtheropsis incerta is included in the genus Diphtheropsis Martynov 1937. Sister taxa: Cicadoprosbole , Elkinda , Shaanxiarcta [1] [2] [3] .
