Geography

The village is located in the western part of the Terek district, on the right bank of the Terek River. It is located 4 km south-west of the rural center of Arik , 9 km north of the regional center of Terek and 62 km east of the city of Nalchik .

It borders the lands of settlements: Arik in the northeast and Terek in the south, on the opposite bank of the Terek is the village of Kotlyarevskaya .

The village is located on the sloping Kabardian plain , in the transition from the foothill to the lowland zone of the republic. The average altitude in the village is 232 meters above sea level. The terrain is mainly a wavy sloping plain sharply turning in the northeast into the slopes of the Aric Range .

The hydrographic network is represented by the Terek River and spring water outlets (where the name of the settlement comes from).

The climate is humid and temperate. Hot summer. The average air temperature in July is about + 23.0 ° С. In early August, absolute indicators often reach + 35 ° C. Winter is mild and lasts about three months with frequent thaws. Minimum temperatures rarely drop below −10 ° C. The average January temperature is -2.5 ° C. In general, the average annual air temperature is + 10.5 ° C. The average annual rainfall is about 630 mm. In July and August, droughts are frequent due to the impact of air currents coming from the Caspian lowland .

History

Psynashkho was founded in 1957 on the basis of the Udarnik state farm, as a service station on the Kotlyarevskaya - Beslan line of the North Caucasus Railway .

In 1963, the settlement at Murtazovsky state farm was given the name Psynashkho village [3] .
