In 1802, he was appointed to the place of the chief Bergprobeirer of the Yekaterinburg mountain authorities in the first department. In 1807, after the abolition of the department, Agte was appointed assistant mining director of the Yekaterinburg factories with the head of the laboratory and amalgam production. He achieved an improvement in the method of smelting gold, due to which he managed to significantly save metal. Agte was the first to introduce rotating barrels for grinding gold sands, which for a long time were called " Agtev barrels " for a long time. For this invention he received in 1830 an award of 6,000 rubles. In 1831, Agte was transferred by the Berg inspector to Yekaterinburg [3] .
